The Galilee Society is glad to announce the appointment of Dr. Nedal Massalha as the new Scientific Director of the Institute for Applied Research, succeeding Dr. Manal Haj Zaroubi, who held this position for the past four years.
In this context, we would like to extend our great thanks to Dr. Manal Haj Zaroubi for her work and dedication in leading the Institute for Applied Research, and we wish her success in her current and future scientific research at the Institute for Applied Research.
Introducing Dr. Nedal Massalha
Dr. Massalha holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering from the Technion, a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the Technion, and a doctoral degree in environmental engineering from Ben-Gurion University. He was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the United States of America between the years 2016 and 2018. He has also been a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Applied Research at the Galilee Society since 2019.
Dr. Massalha has published numerous scientific articles in the following areas:
1. Environmental health risks associated with wastewater, biosolids, and manures treatment and reuse.
2. Bioenergy recovery, and land application of animal manure and biosolids
3. Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes Including: Biological treatment, Disinfection, Advanced oxidation processes.
We are all confident that Dr. Nedal Massalha will lead the Institute for Applied Research to even greater scientific success, and we wish him the best of luck in his new role.
