Kfar Saba is preparing for climate change!
There is a scientific consensus regarding global warming and that human activity is responsible for it. Following the last three decades, which were the warmest on Earth, scientific assessments of the severity of the effects of climate change are increasing, including an increase in the frequency of extreme heat waves, prolonged droughts, an increase in extreme events and floods, damage to ecosystems and more. An analysis of climatic trends in research tools shows that the Middle East, including Israel, is a hot spot in climate change. The expected consequences affect and will continue to affect the entire population, but especially vulnerable populations.
Urban preparedness for climate change is critical to the city’s ability to adapt to the new situation, provide city residents with tools to deal with it and reduce damage.
